Danny Rogers, Lead Pastor Danny and his family joined the New Song staff team in January 2006. They are from the New Orleans area and feel right at home in eastern North Carolina being next to the water (though they still miss crawfish!). Danny is passionate about his family, worship, leadership development, and anything related to the water. His favorite activities include playing music, writing, boating and exploring the Crystal Coast with his family. He and his wife Karri were married in 1996 and have two beautiful children. Danny is a life-long learner and graduated with a B.A. from Leavell College in New Orleans and a Masters Degree in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  | Cheryl Bowen, Executive Assistant Cheryl came to New Song in June of 2003, serving as the Ministry Assistant to the pastoral staff. She is currently the Executive Assistant to the Lead Pastor and also serves in the area of her gifts and passion, which is creative worship. She graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Music Education from the School of Music at East Carolina University. Cheryl loves playing keyboard and singing with the New Song Praise Team. Her "spare time" is spent pursuing a M. Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary with the goal of becoming ordained within this decade of her life. This year, Cheryl and her husband, Jim, are celebrating 20 years of marriage. Their three daughters are at varied stages of life; one married, one in college & one in high school. They are avid ECU Pirate fans and enjoy attending all of the Pirate’s home football games together as well as spending time at home and at the beach. Sue Bishop, Director of Children's Ministries Sue has been serving in the Children’s Ministry of New Song since 1998. She joined the New Song staff team in 2003 and currently serves as the Director of Children’s Ministries. Her love for children and various life circumstances brought her to the current calling to serve full time in children’s ministry. Born in Babylon, NY, Sue graduated from high school in Huntington, NY and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies at SUNY Oswego. Sue married her best friend, Ralph, in 1984, and they have two beautiful and talented children. Together, they love to camp, travel, go boating and spend time with extended family at the beach.  | Tom Skilling, Director of Student Ministries Tom and his wife Jessalyn joined New Song in July of 2008. They were married on May 2, 2008 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they were born and raised. Tom graduated from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary with an M.A. in Intercultural Ministries. He enjoys playing and watching most any sport (especially soccer), listening to music, playing the guitar, reading, camping, and spending time with his wife. Suzanne Lyons, Office Manager Suzanne has served as the Office Manager of New Song Church since January of 2008. One of Suzanne’s Spiritual gifts is the gift of service. She has a passion for people and loves to help them make connections. Suzanne moved to New Bern with her two children in December of 2005. They all attended New Song’s 8th anniversary together and they’ve been worshiping and serving here ever since. They love camping, going to the beach, helping out in the community as well as visiting friends and family.  | Travis Wallace, Business Administrator Travis joined the New Song team as Business Administrator in December of 2007. He, his wife Whitney, and their son moved here from Miami, Florida. Travis and his family enjoy the slower pace of life and the many activities found on the Crystal Coast. Travis earned his B.A. in History and Political Science from Queens College (now Queens University of Charlotte) and is completing his M.B.A. in Church Administration at California Baptist University.
